How do they remove the accents in movies like Avatar?
In X-Men Origins Wolverine and Avatar, the actors Hugh Jackman and SAm Worthington sounded completely American, no accent. But then when you watch the interviews/etc. they have really strong Australian/British accents. Was it purposely taken somehow digitally or is it just naturally like that on screen?
I know Emily Browning (who is also Australian) surprised the director of A Series of Unfortunate Events by how good her American accent was (since he expected her to need a lot of time with a dialect coach.) She told him something along the lines of “I grew up watching American television, of course I can do the accent!” So for something like an American accent, it may be easier for some actors just based on a lot of exposure.
