How long should i wait to call my ex to get my stuff back from him?
i called him on the phone yesterday and he threatened me with a restraining order along with talking about taking MY dogs to the pound (they would be uthinized) and leaving everything behind and moving to alaska? Just a bunch of stuff. He sounded pissed at the world and I have decided to just get my stuff back and leave him alone. But how long should i wait to call him and ask him for my things? I dont have a car so i cant go over there and just show up and i dont want to upset him any more than what he is. I have already started an ad on craigslist for all my dogs and will even bring them here (im only allowed 1) untill i can find them homes…

Tell him: Look, let’s make ending this easier on both of us. If you don’t want the law involved in this matter, tell me a specific time I can come over and pick up my belongings. I just want to get my stuff back and you’re not any part of the stuff I want. I want my dogs and my camera and my clothes. After I get these things, you won’t hear from me again.
And make that statement the truth. After you get your things, don’t call, write, email, IM, or drive by. It’s over and you have your stuff. Leave it that way. Move on….
If he doesn’t cooperate, call the local police and ask if there is anything they can do to help you. You might also want to call the dog pound and alert them to the situation and ask if there’s anything they can do to let you know if your dogs show up there and leave a number where you can be reached.
