What is a good waterproof digital camera for SCUBA diving?

I’m looking for a compact digital camera which I can use both in and out of the water. Most of the good waterproof cameras which I have found are only rated to 10 meters, which is insufficient. Am I better off buying a regular camera and a waterproof case? I have seen some of these offered by Canon.

which waterproof digital camera should i buy? Canon d10 or Panasonic Lumix ts2 ?

finally going to switch over to a waterproof digital cam !!! Living here in hawaii i would make use of it ALL the time so i need something reliable, dependable with good quality photos! Please ….. which of these two cameras should i purchase? any experience youve had with either, please let me know!

Why does it say that one can have a digital waterproof camera under water ONLY FOR UP TO 1h ??

I can’t find now where I read it, but I think it was in one of those Olympus Stylus Waterproof cameras. Now I don’t understand how being under water for more than an hour could damage the camera while being for 45 minutes cannot !! There are depth regulations, OK, I get that, it’s because of the pressure. But once the camera is a waterproof one, it is waterproof always !!

What is the best digital waterproof camera out there?

i’m looking for something that is pretty cheap in price.. but good in quality. I’m going to Hawaii soon and wish to take LOTS of underwater pictures.. i have a Canon Rebel XSI but im not really comfortable with taking it underwater. Any ideas?

Ok, so for Christmas this year, I figure that I should splurge a bit on myself, seeing as I do this rarely. I want a very good quality digital camera, for a tighter budget, unfortunately. & I’m not looking for anything magnificent, like a Canon Rebel or something, just something that can take sharper, less blurred, good-quality pictures.
